Privacy Policy

This policy describes how GTranslate (“the app”) handles information when you use text translation, camera (Lens), voice input, dialogue mode, and offline language packs. The app is designed to work primarily on your device after you download the ML Kit translation models you need.

1. No account

GTranslate does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email, or phone number inside the app for core features.

2. Text, voice, and images

• Text translation: Text you type or paste is processed for translation using on-device models when your language packs are installed. It is not sent to our servers by this app (there is no custom backend for translation in the app itself).
• Voice and dialogue: The microphone and system speech recognition are used to turn speech into text before translation. Audio is handled according to Apple’s speech APIs and your device settings.
• Lens / camera: The camera captures frames to detect text on device. Still images you import from your photo library are processed on device for text detection and translation.

3. Offline language packs

Translation models are downloaded through Google’s ML Kit components bundled with the app. Downloads may use your network (often Wi‑Fi). Installed packs remain on your device until you remove them in Library.

4. Subscriptions (GTranslate Pro)

Purchases and subscription status are processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. Apple may share limited purchase-related information with developers according to Apple’s policies.

5. Analytics and crash data

This build does not embed a third-party analytics SDK for routine translation use. If you enable optional diagnostics elsewhere (e.g. system-level sharing with Apple), that is governed by your device and Apple settings, not this policy alone.

6. Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the app in a way that collects personal information from children without appropriate consent.

7. Changes

We may update this policy when the app’s features change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when material changes are made.
